Bureau Veritas is proud to announce that we have been recognised as a Veteran Employer of Choice, the highest accreditation awarded by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
This achievement is a true reflection of the collective effort across Bureau Veritas and our People and Culture team to support veterans by fostering inclusive employment pathways that recognise and leverage the valuable skills, experience and leadership capabilities developed through military service.
A special recognition has been made for our strong Veteran Employee Policy and Strategy, and our onboarding approach.
What is the Veteran Employment Commitment?
The Veteran Employment Commitment (VEC) falls under the Veteran Employment Program (VEP), which delivers initiatives that support Australian organisations to improve employment outcomes for Australian Defence Force veterans. The VEC is for organisations to demonstrate their commitment to employing veterans and creating an environment where they can perform at their best.
With the VEP it:
- promotes the skills veterans bring to the civilian workforce to increase employment opportunities for veterans and partners
- encourages and supports employers to recruit and retain veterans and to build veteran-inclusive environments
- delivers targeted programs and resources to support the collective efforts of the veteran employment community.
Why does this matter for Bureau Veritas?
Supporting veterans and their families is not only the right thing to do—it makes us stronger. Veterans bring resilience, adaptability and leadership that enhance our teams, strengthen our capability, and improve outcomes for our clients and communities.
As our Executive Sponsor for Veteran Employment, Mat Bradley, shares:
“Achieving Veteran Employer of Choice status reflects the value we place on the skills, leadership and resilience that Veterans bring to Bureau Veritas. We are grateful for the recognition and clear-eyed about the work ahead – across recruitment, retention and genuine support – to be an organisation where Veterans and their families can thrive long after the transition from service.”
As a Veteran Employer of Choice, Bureau Veritas is committed to supporting veterans by fostering inclusive employment pathways that recognise and leverage the valuable skills, experience and leadership capabilities developed through military service.
We will continue to actively promote veteran inclusion through internal engagement, external communications, and ongoing measurement of workforce representation, ensuring transparency and continuous improvement in our contribution to the Defence community.
