By the end of 2018 Bureau Veritas and technology partner Cornis had inspected over 30,000 wind turbine blades worldwide. Now Advanced Blade Inspection is coming to Australia and New Zealand.
Advanced Blade Inspection uses a HD camera to scan blades from the safety of the ground. Images from the blade surfaces are processed by artificial intelligence with SME oversight. The combination of high resolution & magnification images, and AI, enables an accurate and time efficient assessment of surfaces for baseline data, performance optimisation, incident investigation and routine inspection.
Advanced Blade Inspection could reveal why the power output and remaining life of a wind turbine is sub-optimal.
