Modern Slavery
Risk Assessment & Auditing

Providing Supply Chain Risk Management Procedures in the context of the Modern Slavery legislation.

In Australia, The Commonwealth Modern Slavery Act 2018 mandates that companies meeting the
specified threshold (currently $100 million in consolidated revenue, soon to be $50 million) must
publish a modern slavery statement. One of the key reporting requirements is the implementation of due diligence and remediation processes. Additionally, the growing demand for strengthened due diligence checks requires companies to take substantive actions to scrutinise their supply chains.

Bureau Veritas’ Modern Slavery solution suite correlates the required actions and subsequent assessment activities with the level of risks, targeting mitigation activities while reducing capital expenditure.

This is particularly important for organisations with multi-tiered supplier networks, whereby assessment and mitigation activities may be targeted to the criticality of the supplier for the buyer, practices at the site and location of the supplier.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

    4. Documents/Records review - documents and records review such as policies, procedures, processes, payroll, working timesheets, etc
