Port of Melbourne is proud to announce that it has achieved ISO certification, by Bureau Veritas Certification, of its key business management systems in the areas of Quality (9001:2015), Environment (14001:2015), OHS (45001:2018) and Asset Management (55001:2014).
Accreditation to these international standards is the centrepiece of Port of Melbourne’s Integrated Management System, titled ‘The Compass’, which delivers a systematic and collaborative approach to designing, reviewing and documenting our key procedures and processes. The Compass will drive improved business performance while embedding a culture of workplace excellence.
These globally recognised standards underpin our vision and values as an organisation and complement our operational standards, expectations, and requirements that will build, deliver and sustain positive, effective and dynamic working environments.
Port of Melbourne is the first organisation in Australia to have certified a fully Integrated Management System to the most contemporary versions of these four Standards. We are also the first Australian port to attain certification of its Asset Management System to ISO 55001:2014.
Certification of Port of Melbourne’s Asset Management System fulfills a requirement of the 50-year lease of the Port of Melbourne and was achieved 2.5 years ahead of the requirement time frame.
