Acquisition of Amdel Group
Amdel & Ultra Trace are part of the Bureau Veritas Group. Employing over 1,200 people located in 23 laboratories throughout Australia and New Zealand, Amdel operates the largest collection of laboratories designed to provide exceptional services for the mining sector. Ultra Trace, based in Canning Vale, Western Australia, operates one of the largest mineral laboratory facilities in the world, servicing projects for a large client list including the world’s foremost Mining and Exploration companies.
Acquisition of Inspectorate Group (Kalassay, C.R. Cox & Associates, Standard & Reference Laboratories)
Inspectorate Australia Inspection & Assay Pty Limited was registered in 2006 forming Inspectorate’s wholly owned Australia operation, operating in all ports, smelters and commercial locations in Australia, providing independent inspection and analytical services across a wide range of metals and minerals.
With the acquisition of Standard and Reference (S&R) in 2006 and Kalassay in 2007 Inspectorate became a significant provider of commercial assaying to the mineral industry of Australia. From the high grade (party and umpire) and check assaying services of S&R to the robotized geochemical exploration analysis of Kalassay, Inspectorate is proud of the extensive and high quality service provided in Australia.
The acquisition of C.R. Cox & Associates in mid-2008 has added even greater depth to Inspectorate Australia’s inspection services.
Bureau Veritas International Trade (Coal Services)
Bureau Veritas International Trade is a division of our Commodities and Minerals Group with a focus on the provision of Coal Services to service the technical needs of the Australian Coal industry. BV-ITA Provide analytical facilities, technical support and consulting services with ten laboratory facilities and employing over 450 staff across Australia.
Services include Bulk Commodities Certification (Superintending), Exploration & Borecore Services and Technical (Outsourcing) Services.
Facilities are accredited to ISO IEC 17025:2005, including the NATA Supplementary Requirements for chemical Testing. Five of these facilities are located within the major coal ports where superintending is required. The other five are inland, close to the mining operations of major coal producers.
