Webinar: Modern Slavery Act Impact - Our Audit Findings and Future Trends

Jan. 30 2024

In an era where corporate responsibility is paramount, ensuring compliance with legislation and fostering transparency in supply chains is crucial. Watch our webinar for an insightful session where we discussed how modern slavery risk assessment and auditing play pivotal roles in achieving these objectives.

In 2018, the federal government introduced The Commonwealth Modern Slavery Act 2018 (the Act), It aims to combat modern slavery in supply chains, and currently requires entities with at least AU$100 million annual consolidated revenue to report annually their identified risks of modern slavery in their operations and supply chains, and the actions they have taken to mitigate those risks.

Following 5 years of implementation our ESG experts will provide insights on the future of modern slavery reporting for Australian companies.

  • Our experience and practical findings and trends from completing risk reviews,
    and on-site audits
  • International regulatory developments imposing mandatory supply chain due diligence
  • The Australian Government's statutory review in 2023 and the 30 recommendations to improve and strengthen the legislation.
    • Introducing penalties for specific non-compliance
    • Requirements that entities implement a due diligence system
    • Lowering the threshold for reporting companies to $50m
